• Assist in forecasting data to regulatory bodies and affiliates; prepare exhibits and interrogatories for regulatory proceedings.
• Develop GFI and TYSP forecasts including fuel, generation, marginal costs, and energy costs.

Tampa Electric and its sister companies serve a role in providing critical services to our community during an emergency. Team members are required to participate in the response/recovery activities related to emergencies/disasters to maintain service to our Tampa Electric customers. Team members are required to work in their normal job duties or other assigned activities. Proper compensation will be made in accordance with the company's rules and procedures.

The program is an extension of the educational process, providing practical experience to complement formal classroom work. The co-op program recruits students from colleges to give them an opportunity to work in a professional environment related to their field of study.

This position applies advanced analytic techniques and creative problem-solving skills to prepare and present complex reliability studies, system economic evaluations, business development opportunities, and resource expansion and operation optimization to lower cost for customers and grow earnings for the company. This position thrives in a high-energy, fast-paced, dynamic team environment were collaboration and cooperation drive individual and corporate growth. This position also supports regulatory activities including assisting in testimony preparation, answering interrogatories, and responding to data requests.

Accountabilities

As a successful candidate for ourCo/Op Position, you would:

• Conduct analyses to develop energy supply resource additions, demand reductions, utilization, alternatives, and recommendations based on providing cost-effective, reliable energy service to customers while maximizing stakeholder growth objectives.
• Assist in the reporting of forecast data to regulatory bodies and affiliated companies. This includes regulatory strategy development, preparation of exhibits, preparation of interrogatories, strategic or policy discussions with management of other companies and regulatory staff, and assisting in the preparation of direct, and/or rebuttal testimony in regulatory proceedings.
• Assist in the development of the Generation, Fuel, and Interchange (GFI) and Ten-Year Site Plans (TYSP) forecasts including quantities of fuel, generation, marginal costs, and average cost of energy. Solicit and verify key input data from supporting departments.
• Assist with the evaluation of the long-term resource availability and preparation of the Strategic Plan for review and approval by management.

Preferred: Previous power industry experience

Physical Location of Co-op: 3600 Midtown Dr. Tampa FL

Preferred Availability: Part / Full Time (20 – 40 hours)

Working Conditions: Mostly in a normal office environment

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

The successful applicant should be enrolled in an ABET accredited university as a college undergraduate or a graduate level post-secondary educational program in a related discipline.

Co-Op Requirements:

• To qualifyas a co-op student, enrollment in the university’s co-op program (proof of enrollment required); if not eligible for co-op program (or program unavailable), the student will be considered an intern.
• A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required.

Required Degree: Currently pursuing an Engineering Degree.
