Stepan Company in Pasadena, Texas invites a Spring 2027 Processing Engineering Co-Op pursuing a BS in Chemical Engineering. The role offers hands-on experience in a chemical manufacturing plant, working with our Process Engineering team to contribute to continuous improvement projects and safety programs.

As part of the Co-Op, you will engage with engineers and operators to develop checklists, support downtime reduction, and participate in root cause analysis and management of change.

Spring 2027 Processing Engineering Co-Op Pasadena

Location: Pasadena, TX, US, 77507

Stepan Company is seeking a Co-Op student pursuing a BS in Chemical Engineering to join our Process Engineering team at our Pasadena, Texas location. As a Chemical Process Engineering Co-Op at Stepan Company, you will work on a variety of continuous improvement projects that have a direct impact on the organization and gain hands_on, real_world work experience alongside our experienced engineers and operators in a chemical manufacturing plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Support 6 Sigma and Kaizen projects for continuous improvement
• Support the Sulfonation operating area with unplanned downtime improvement efforts
• Support development and implementation of additional checklists and work instructions for production areas
• Support training development and management of change
• Collaborate with cross functional team
• Actively participate and contribute to safety programs
• Assist operations and maintenance with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem solving
• Participate in process safety management activities and reviews

Qualifications

• Broad technical knowledge in general engineering principles
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and work independently

Education

• Candidates must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Candidates who must have equivalent credits towards a sophomore or junior grade level.
• Candidates must be enrolled at an accredited college or university, pursuing BS in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• Spring term candidates must be available to work full-time for a minimum of 3 months (February - April).

Stepan does not offer housing for this Co-Op program. Candidates must have their own means of transportation.
