Stepan Company in Pasadena, Texas invites a Spring 2027 Processing Engineering Co-Op pursuing a BS in Chemical Engineering. The role offers hands-on experience in a chemical manufacturing plant, working with our Process Engineering team to contribute to continuous improvement projects and safety programs.

As part of the Co-Op, you will engage with engineers and operators to develop checklists, support downtime reduction, and participate in root cause analysis and management of change.

Qualifications

• Broad technical knowledge in general engineering principles.
• Able to organize, prioritize, and work independently.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrated problem solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support 6 Sigma and Kaizen projects for continuous improvement.
• Support Sulfonation area with downtime improvement efforts.
• Support development and implementation of checklists and work instructions for production areas.
• Support training development and change management.
• Collaborate with cross functional team.
• Participate in safety programs.
• Assist operations and maintenance with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem solving.
• Participate in process safety management activities and reviews.
