Job summary

Stepan Company, a leading chemical manufacturer, seeks a skilled Maintenance Planner in Kentucky to develop and supervise detailed maintenance plans. You will coordinate with Operations and Engineering, manage work orders, and support shutdowns. Strong CMMS and scheduling experience are essential.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in industrial maintenance planning, scheduling, or related plant maintenance experience.
  • Experience planning mechanical and/or instrumentation maintenance work.
  • Knowledge of SAP Maintenance or similar CMMS.
  • Experience with Primavera P6 or other scheduling software preferred.
  • Ability to read P&IDs, equipment drawings, and technical documents.
  • Strong organization, communication, problem-solving, and coordination skills.
  • Experience in chemical, petrochemical, manufacturing, or related industrial environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed maintenance job plans with work steps, labor, materials, tools, equipment, and durations.
  • Plan and schedule preventive, corrective, and turnaround maintenance activities.

  • Coordinate parts, materials, contractors, and resources before work begins.
  • Update maintenance work orders and schedules in SAP and Primavera P6.
  • Coordinate schedules with Operations, Engineering, and project teams.
  • Monitor progress and adjust plans as needed.
  • Support shutdown and turnaround planning and execution.
  • Identify risks and communicate concerns to stakeholders.
  • Track planning performance and support continuous improvement.
  • Ensure plans comply with safety standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and schedule preventive, corrective, and turnaround maintenance activities.
  • Conduct field walkdowns to verify job scope and identify work requirements.
  • Coordinate required parts, materials, contractors, and other resources before work begins.
  • Maintain and update maintenance work orders and schedules in SAP and Primavera P6.
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules with Operations, Engineering, and project teams.
  • Monitor work progress and adjust plans or schedules as needed.
  • Support shutdown and turnaround planning and execution.
  • Identify scheduling, safety, constructability, and resource risks and communicate concerns to stakeholders.
  • Track maintenance planning and scheduling performance and support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ensure work plans comply with company safety standards and applicable procedures.

Education
  • Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent relevant experience preferred.

Pay Range: $86,000 - $116,000

The salary range for this position is determined by considering a variety of factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, and the location of the position.
