Job summary

The Whitney Museum of American Art offers a Spring 2027 Ostrover Family Academic Internship in the Education department. The program runs Jan 18–Apr 26, 2027, with 16–21 hours per week for 10–12 weeks. Interns receive a $3000 stipend and are placed in a museum education setting to support programs and partnerships.

Open to rising juniors and above, including graduate students, this in-person internship emphasizes collaboration with staff, communities, and artists across the city.

Qualifications

• Passionate about contemporary art and social movements; knowledge preferred.
• Enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited program in education, museum studies, or related field.
• Proficiency in Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, or ASL is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for virtual/onsite programs and events.
• Prepare curriculum materials for freelance educators.
• Research artists in the Whitney collection and current exhibitions.
• Assist educators offsite at community partnerships.
• Maintain and organize community programs spaces.
• Complete a final intern project related to community programs.
