Job summary

Winthrop University is seeking an hourly fitness class instructor to deliver high-quality exercise sessions for students and West Center members, based on the posted schedule and program standards. You will prepare the site and equipment, prioritize safety and wellbeing, enforce policies, and record participation counts.

The role supports the Director of Recreational Services and may involve attending staff meetings and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must have taken and passed or currently enrolled in the Exercise Leadership & Instruction class.
• Through the Physical Education, Sport, and Human Performance department.

Responsibilities

• Instruct appropriate exercise classes as scheduled.
• Ensure class site and equipment are properly prepared.
• Prioritize the safety and wellbeing of all participants.
• Promptly enforce all policies and adhere to risk management procedures.
• Record participation counts.
• Attend staff meetings as assigned.

• OR have certification from and accredited exercise organization such as ACE , AAFA , NASM , and ACSM .
