CENTERS, LLC is seeking a part-time Group Fitness Instructor to lead safe, engaging classes at our recreation center. You will deliver high-quality instruction to participants of varying fitness levels and ensure a welcoming, inclusive environment.

Required credentials include a high school diploma or equivalent, current CPR/AED and First Aid, and a recognized group fitness certification (ACE, AFAA, ACSM or equivalent). Evening and weekend availability preferred.

  • Current nationally recognized group fitness certification (e.g., ACE, AFAA, ACSM, or equivalent).
  • Ability to effectively lead group classes and communicate instructions clearly.
  • Knowledge of standard practices related to group fitness instruction and recreational sports.
  • Ability to work independently and follow established procedures.

  • Instructs safe, effective, and engaging group fitness classes using proper technique and professional judgment.
  • Demonstrates and cues exercises appropriate for participants of varying fitness levels and abilities.
  • Provides a welcoming and inclusive environment for all class participants.
  • Ensures participant safety during classes and within the fitness or studio space.
  • Prepares class plans that align with class format, certification standards, and organizational expectations.
  • Communicates effectively with supervisors regarding scheduling, coverage, and class-related needs.

Position Summary

The Part-time Group Fitness Instructor is responsible for leading safe, effective, and engaging group fitness classes that support participant wellness and satisfaction. This role delivers high-quality instruction to individuals of varying fitness levels while fostering an inclusive, motivating, and positive class environment. The Group Fitness Instructor follows established policies and professional standards to ensure participant safety, program consistency, and an exceptional recreation experience.

  • Demonstrates and cues exercises appropriate for participants of varying fitness levels and abilities
  • Provides a welcoming and inclusive environment for all class participants
  • Ensures participant safety during classes and within the fitness or studio space
  • Prepares class plans that align with class format, certification standards, and organizational expectations
  • Communicates effectively with supervisors regarding scheduling, coverage, and class-related needs
  • Enforces group fitness program policies, procedures, and professional conduct standards
  • Enforces facility rules and safety procedures and assists during emergencies as needed
  • Attends required group fitness and departmental staff meetings
  • Maintains current knowledge of group fitness trends, techniques, and safety guidelines
  • Adheres to Recreation Center policies, procedures, and operational expectations
  • Supports site-specific fitness programming, special events, or wellness initiatives as assigned
  • Uses and operates audio/visual and class-related equipment safely and appropriately
  • Assists with maintaining a clean, safe, and professional instructional environment
  • Responds to participant questions or concerns related to group fitness programming
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications
  • Current nationally recognized group fitness certification (e.g., ACE, AFAA, ACSM, or equivalent)
  • Ability to effectively lead group classes and communicate instructions clearly
  • Knowledge of standard practices related to group fitness instruction and recreational sports
  • Ability to work independently and follow established procedures
Preferred Qualifications
  • Specialty certification(s) appropriate to the class format taught (e.g., yoga, cycle, Pilates, strength, dance)
  • Experience instructing group fitness classes in a recreation, collegiate, or community setting
  • Proficiency with audio/visual equipment used in group fitness environments
  • Experience working with diverse populations and fitness levels

Compensation will be determined based on years of experience or level of certification.
