McKenney's Inc. is seeking a motivated Co-op to join our team in Atlanta from day one, receiving hands-on training and impactful tasks across estimating and operations.

You will work with Project Managers and Field Foremen to support scheduling, site logistics, and vendor coordination, with a path to potentially manage projects under guidance. This program emphasizes collaboration, safety, and real-world construction experience.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Co-op program in engineering (Mechanical/Industrial/Construction).
• Must complete three full-time alternating Co-op rotations before graduation.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills required.

Responsibilities

• Support estimating and operations alongside Project Managers.
• Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to schedule and procure materials.
• Assist Field Foreman with scheduling and site logistics management.
• Assist in preconstruction: gather quotes, perform take-offs, help assemble estimates.
• Help obtain permits, submittals, and other documentation as needed.

JOB SUMMARY

As aCo-op, you will be part of the team from day one and given training and tasks that are important and impactful to our projects' success.

Success in this roledependson the Co-op'sinitiative and teamwork. A successful Co-opwill support estimating and operations, collaborate with vendors and subcontractors,andsupport the Field Foreman with customer needs through scheduling and sitelogisticsmanagement. A top achieving Co-opmay gain the opportunity to manage projects from start to finish under a Project Manager's guidance.

McKenney's has a long history of success in hiring Co-ops and supporting their evolution into industry leaders.Many of our current senior leaders began their journey in the Co-op program.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work alongside Project Managersto manage the mechanical, plumbing, and/orcontrolsconstruction of projects from start to finish-utilizingsoftware, such as Revit, Bluebeam, Procore,andBIM 360.
• Coordinate with vendors to schedule andprocurematerials and equipmentpurchasesfor construction projects.
• Regularlyupdate andproject cost expenditures for the project's budgets.
• Plan with Project Managers and Field Foreman to hit major schedule milestones with the field crews onsite.
• Assistin the preconstruction phase of projects:gather quotes, perform take-offs, and help assemble estimates.
• Assistin obtaining necessary permits, submittals, and other documentationfor projects.
• Regularly survey project sites for adherence to McKenney's safety, quality, and production values.
• Take onadditionalresponsibilitieseach rotationwhile managing priorities.

BASICQUALIFICATIONS

Education andExperience:

• Candidates must be enrolled in aCo-op program at an accredited engineering school majoring in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, or a related degree.
• Candidates must complete atleastthree full-timealternatingCo-op rotations before graduation and should avoid a full courseload while working, which may delay graduation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Effective communicatoracross a diverse group of people (PMs, drafting, field staff, fabrication shops, etc.).
• Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently as well as within a team.
• Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goals.
• Excellent problem-solving ability.
• Attention to detail while completing multiple or repetitive tasks with a high sense of urgency.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS

• Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment.
• No orlimited exposure to physical risk; occasional jobsite visitsmayrequire climbingpermanent and temporary stairs/ladders, passenger use of hoists,and navigatingactiveconstructionareas.
• Light physical effort handling average weight objects up to 50 pounds may berequiredoccasionally.
