Job summary

The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) invites college students or recent graduates to join our Spring 2027 internship program. ISW offers in-person, remote, and hybrid internships across diverse research portfolios, including Russia, China, and Iran's Axis of Resistance.

Internships include classroom education and mentorship from senior analysts. ISW provides opportunities to work on open-source intelligence analysis, contribute to policy-relevant research, and gain hands-on experience with

Qualifications

Candidates must have demonstrated interest in cognitive and information warfare; disinformation/misinformation; artificial intelligence (AI) and information technology; international affairs; or propaganda and media studies.
Candidates should have a demonstrated interest in national security or regional studies, particularly relating to Russia, Ukraine, Europe, or China.
Candidates should preferably possess strong critical language capabilities in Russian, Ukrainian, or Mandarin.
Experience with data visualization tools, large data sets, AI, and data management systems are a plus.
Candidates must possess excellent writing, editing, research, and oral communication skills.
Candidates must display the ability to conduct complex tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
Candidates should be self-motivated, independent, creative, and capable of working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
