The Vertex Tax Co-Op is a 6-month experiential training program for students currently working towards a bachelor’s in accounting. If you are passionate, collaborative, and growth-minded, a co-op at Vertex will help you gain meaningful experience in our Tax functional area and serve as a launchpad for your career. The Tax Department is responsible for global tax accounting, tax compliance, tax advice and planning for Vertex. The Tax intern/co-op is a key member within Vertex’s Tax Department.
Responsibilities include supporting the tax function in the determination of US federal, state and local corporate tax provisions, estimation of book-to-tax differences, and ASC 740 tax accounting matters including involvement with the quarterly/annual SEC tax footnote. The position will also include assisting in the US federal, state and local tax compliance. The individual will assist with quarterly US federal and state estimates calculation, address notices received by various state jurisdictions. The individual also assist with any potential federal and state corporate income tax audits. The individual is expected to also be an innovator and leverage technology to help transform the global tax function and develop effective working relationships with staff and management, as well as finance, legal and other operating personnel.
