Job summary

CANPACK Group in Muncie, Indiana invites a skilled maintenance mechanic to operate spray and necker equipment, perform routine inspections, and support quality standards on the production floor.

You will troubleshoot, perform basic repairs, and collaborate with the Spray/Necker Specialist to keep machines running efficiently in a fast-paced environment with safety and environmental guidelines.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years’ experience as a Mechanic in manufacturing/industrial environment preferred.
  • Self-motivated with high attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety, fire-prevention, and environmental protection regulations.
  • Ability to work independently or as a team.

Position Summary

Ensure spray and/or necker machines are operating at peak efficiency within quality specifications.



Essential Functions/Key Deliverables


  • Assist with operation of spray and/or necker equipment while maintaining quality standards.

  • Perform daily maintenance plans and audits of machines/housekeeping according to maintenance plan.

  • Perform and report technician-level repairs (basic technical repairs).

  • Trouble shoot faulty equipment and assemblies.

  • Assist Spray/Necker Specialist with repair of defective parts.

  • Perform routine quality checks at the appropriate stage of production.

  • Perform any other duty reasonable corresponding with the role.



Knowledge/Skills/Experience


  • Vocational education a plus (Mechanical, Technical or similar).

  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

  • 1-3 years’ experience as a Mechanic in manufacturing/industrial environment preferred.

  • Self-motivated with high attention to detail preferred.

  • Problem solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently or as a team.

  • Experience in mechanical maintenance and repair preferred.

  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety, fire-prevention, and environmental protection regulations.
