Job summary

Advantage Manufacturing of Colorado Springs is seeking a Spot Welder to perform resistance spot welding of precision sheet metal components. You will follow blueprints and work instructions, ensure proper alignment, and inspect welds to meet quality standards.

Responsibilities include preparing parts, clamping, operating welding equipment, recording work on travelers, and adhering to AS9100 documentation and safety protocols. This is an on-site, full-time role with hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 0–1 year welding or metal fabrication experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing or sheet metal environment is a plus.

• Operate spot welding equipment to assemble metal components according to blueprints and work instructions.
• Ensure proper alignment of parts and clean contact surfaces before welding.
• Inspect completed welds for quality and conformance to specifications.
• Handle sheet metal components safely to prevent damage and assist in preparing parts for welding (cleaning, clamping, fitting).
• Record work performed on job travelers or time tracking systems and follow AS9100 documentation requirements.

This role supports the welding and fabrication departments by preparing, aligning, and welding components safely and efficiently. The Spot Welder works under close supervision and follows established work instructions and safety guidelines.Key ResponsibilitiesWelding Operations- Operate spot welding equipment to assemble metal components according to blueprints and work instructions.Ensure proper alignment of parts and clean contact surfaces before welding.Inspect completed welds for quality and conformance to specifications.Material Handling & Preparation- Handle sheet metal components safely to prevent damage.Assist in preparing parts for welding, including cleaning, clamping, and fitting.Return fixtures and tools to designated areas after use.Quality & Inspection- Perform visual inspections of welds to identify defects such as poor penetration, misalignment, or surface marks.Report non-conformances or part defects to supervisor or quality team.Documentation & ReportingRecord work performed on job travelers or time tracking systems.Follow standard operating procedures and AS9100 documentation requirementsSafety & HousekeepingWear appropriate PPE and follow all safety protocols related to welding operations.Maintain a clean and organized workstation.Report equipment issues or safety concerns immediatelyQualificationsEducation and Experienceo High school diploma or GED preferred.o 0–1 year of welding or metal fabrication experience.o Experience in a manufacturing or sheet metal environment is a plus.Skills and Competencieso Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.o Basic mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.o Willingness to learn and follow established processes.**Work Environment & Physical Requirements **This role involves working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery and production noise with exposure to heat and sparks.Physical tasks include standing, lifting 50 lbs, and performing repetitive motions for extended periods.Must adhere to all safety protocols and ensure team compliance with workplace safety standardsSchedule- Hours: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday – FridayHours: 2:15 PM – 10:45 PM, Monday – FridaySome flexibility may be required based on production needsCompensationHourly Range: $18.00 - $22.00 per hourBenefits include shared-cost health care, paid holidays, paid time off, and a 401(k) with companymatch after a waiting period.Additional InformationThis job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee filling this position.
