Job summary

MEC (Mayville Engineering Company, Inc.) is seeking a Spot Weld Operator in Defiance, OH to set up and operate spot weld equipment, adjust settings, load/unload parts, and inspect weld quality. The role includes basic maintenance, ERP data entry, and using quality tools to ensure part specifications are met.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, ability to operate cranes/overhead hoists, proficiency in math and computers, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety and environmental procedures
• Come to work everyday, on time as scheduled
• Proficient communication skills
• Accurately read and use quality tools to ensure quality parts; inspect welds and unload parts
• Use computer to enter part information/inventory in ERP system
• Use of spot weld technology
• Load, setup, operate spot welding equipment
• Perform basic preventative maintenance and setup to keep spot welder running smoothly
• Examine weld during welding process and inspect first piece
• Execute scheduling board
• Operate motorized walking stacker
