Job summary

MEC (Mayville Engineering Company, Inc.) is seeking a Spot Weld Operator in Defiance, OH. You will set up and operate spot weld equipment, adjust gun tips, and ensure weld quality per specifications.

Responsibilities include reading quality tools, entering data in ERP, and performing basic preventive maintenance to minimize downtime. A High School Diploma or GED is required, along with crane/hoist ability and basic math and computer skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to operate cranes and overhead hoists.
• Ability to use quality inspection equipment.
• Proficient in basic math and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety and environmental procedures.
• Come to work everyday, on time as scheduled.
• Read and use quality tools to ensure parts meet standards and specifications.
• Enter part information in ERP system.
• Load, setup and operate spot welding equipment.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance on welder and setup to keep it running smoothly.
• Inspect welds during welding and verify quality with measuring tools.
• Execute scheduling board.
