Job description

We are searching for our next Sports Physical Therapy Technician

We are seeking a Sports Physical Therapy Technician who thrives in a fast-paced hospital environment. In this role, you will assist occupational and physical therapists and their assistants in delivering developmentally and age-appropriate occupational and physical therapy treatments for patients from birth to adulthood.

Schedule

• Monday: 11:30 AM - 6:00 PM
• Tuesday & Thursday: 11:00 AM - 5:30 PM
• Saturdays: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (starting in September; initially Fridays 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM until Saturdays commence)

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate care for various age groups including Neonate, Infant, Toddler, Preschool, School Age, Adolescent, and Adult
• Attend health, safety, and training in-services, along with other mandatory hospital activities
• Assist in setting up and cleaning patient care areas as directed by therapists or therapy assistants
• Perform patient care activities within your training and responsibilities, demonstrating basic clinical competencies
• Coordinate patient transportation with the primary therapist, care unit, and colleagues
• Maintain inventory of linens and patient supplies
• Clean and disinfect hydrotherapy whirlpools and therapy mats per departmental protocols
• Report any patient or personal injuries, unsafe situations, or issues to the manager or designee
• Complete all required documentation following hospital guidelines

All successful candidates will undergo respiratory fit testing to ensure workplace safety, in line with occupational health standards.

Skills & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; familiarity with a medical environment preferred
• Experience working with children is preferred
• Current basic life support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain CPR certification
• Demonstrated clinical and non-clinical competencies
• Articulate, courteous, and supportive communication skills for dealing with hospital staff, patients, and families
• Ability to independently support patient care under the supervision of a therapist or therapy assistant
