Town of Blacksburg, VA is seeking a game scorekeeper to manage scorekeeping for scheduled athletic events and programs. The role requires independent judgment and thorough knowledge of VHSL rules across sports.

Responsibilities include tracking game times, reporting incidents, and coordinating with officials and coaches. The position offers a per-game salary and opportunities to participate in related duties and special projects as assigned.

Formación

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Moderate knowledge of officiating sport(s).
• Good vision, stamina, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsabilidades

• Keep score for sporting events, games, or competitions.
• Keep track of event times, including game times and elapsed time during game segments.
• Report to regulating organizations regarding sporting activities, complaints made, and actions taken or needed such as fines or other disciplinary actions.
• Confer with other sporting officials, coaches, players, and facility managers to provide information, coordinate activities, and discuss problems.
• Performs sideline crew duties.
