Job summary

Hill City Sports Center in Lynchburg, VA is seeking a part-time Youth League and Programs Scorekeeper. You will operate scoreboards and clocks, record scores and related statistics, and work closely with referees, coaches, and staff to ensure smooth game operations.

This role requires accuracy, reliability, and the ability to work evenings and weekends as league schedules demand. The position supports youth leagues, clinics, tournaments, and recreational programs.

Qualifications

• Accurate record-keeping and math proficiency.
• Ability to learn and apply sport rules.
• Previous scorekeeping or scoreboard experience preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Punctual and dependable.
• Evenings and weekends availability.

Responsibilities

• Operate scoreboards and game clocks for youth games.
• Record scores, fouls, periods, timeouts, and game statistics.
• Maintain game sheets and standings.
• Coordinate with referees and game officials for accurate scoring/timekeeping.
• Start/stop game clocks per sport rules and officials.
• Verify final scores with officials.
• Prepare and maintain scoring equipment; report malfunctions.
• Assist with scorekeeping for clinics, tournaments, camps, and other programs.
• Maintain a professional, neutral attitude toward teams, players, coaches, spectators.
• Follow facility policies and procedures for game operations.
• Arrive on time and prepared for scheduled games.
• Promote sportsmanship and a safe, positive environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
