Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Clinic/Practice Assistant for our Sports Medicine team in a per diem role. You will support daily practice operations, coordinate patient visits, and help care teams deliver efficient, high-quality service.

In this fast-paced healthcare environment, you’ll handle scheduling, check-in/out, mail, and document management while communicating effectively with patients and staff. Onsite in Newton-Wellesley Hospital with regular weekday hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–1 year of healthcare office experience.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Understanding of office operations and procedures (filing, copying, scanning, printing, faxing).
• Ability to manage calls and communicate clearly via email, memos, and letters.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments and maintain accurate records.
• Greet and assist patients during visits.
• Answer phones, respond to inquiries, take messages.
• Support check-in/check-out and patient flow processes.
• File, scan, print, and organize documents.
• Process billing forms and scan into the patient record.
• Request patient records and lab results as needed.
• Open and distribute mail or faxes.
• Prepare forms and schedules as directed.
• Assist with prior authorizations, referrals, and registrations.
