Job description

Homefield Athletic is a division of DuraEdge Products that provides solutions for sports fields. The ideal candidate will work on our Homefield Installation Crew, coordinating with the main office and leadership to complete installation projects, ensuring proper techniques for installing DuraEdge products on baseball and softball fields, including infield skin surfaces, warning tracks, and bullpens.

Job Responsibilities

Work under the supervision of the Installation Crew Leader to learn proper installation techniques for DuraEdge Products on baseball and softball fields. Key responsibilities include:

• Constructing pitching mounds and home plate areas with mound clay and infield mixes.
• Planning field layouts for baseball and softball fields based on the specific type of construction or renovation.
• Managing moisture, compaction, and grading of infield mixes, warning track materials, and mound clays, including topdressing applications.
• Performing manual labor tasks such as heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.), shoveling, raking, and soil compaction.
• Operating small construction equipment like tractors, skid steers, vibratory rollers, and zero-turn mowers.

Job Requirements

• Travel within the region, including overnight stays (lodging and meals provided).
• Opportunity for overtime pay at time and a half.
• Valid driver’s license with the ability to obtain a DOT Physical and operate trucks and trailers with equipment.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Highly motivated, organized, good communicator, and capable of making practical decisions.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ experience in sports field maintenance, landscaping, or construction.
• At least 2 years’ experience operating equipment such as skid loaders, graders, compactors, sod cutters, etc.
• Knowledge of baseball and softball.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
