Job summary

City of St. George is seeking a part-time recreation official to support public events, manage game operations, and provide on-site customer service. The role includes enforcing rules, updating brackets, and assisting with incident reports to ensure smooth league and tournament play.

Candidates should be at least 17 years old, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and hold CPR/First Aid/AED certification within 60 days of hire; Utah driver’s license is required within 60 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in umpiring/refereeing and coaching preferred.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certification required within 60 days of hire; must maintain.
• Valid Utah driver's license required within 60 days of hire and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service in person.
• Respond to public inquiries with accurate information about recreation programs and services.
• Promote and advertise programs and special events.
• Prepare schedules and rosters for distribution.
• Organize and maintain facilities and equipment for events.
• Manage games, enforce city rules on safety and conduct.
• Record incidents and ejections; file accident reports per city policy.
• Update scores and brackets; assist with protest procedures and awards.
