Job summary

YinzCam is a Pittsburgh-based leader in sports technology, seeking Sports Data Scientists to drive AI-driven video analysis, game analytics, and fan engagement. This role combines rigorous research with practical product development in real-time sports analytics.

You will collaborate with CMU researchers to transition innovations from prototype to production, publishing results in top venues and shaping next-generation sports AI products.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Vision, ML, CS or closely related field.
• Strong publication track record in top venues (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, etc.).
• Deep expertise in modern CV techniques: neural networks, object detection, semantic/instance segmentation, action recognition, optical flow, pose estimation.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop AI systems for real-time video understanding of live sporting events (player detection, action recognition, spatial analysis).
• Develop AI systems to extract, aggregate, and interpret game data at scale across multiple sports, teams, and seasons.
• Translate video understanding and analytics into engaging experiences for fans and supporting coaching/scouting.
