Job summary

High Performance Academy is seeking a part-time Sports Coach to inspire students through fun, safe, and age-appropriate sport experiences. You will lead after-school programs, camps, and leagues, teaching fundamental skills, teamwork, and confidence, while modeling integrity and inclusivity.

Candidates should have 2+ years working with youth, strong communication, and a flexible schedule including afternoons, with a commitment to mentorship and growth.

  • 2+ years of experience working with youth or coaching.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and group management skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible part-time schedule including afternoons.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, age-appropriate sports programming using HPA lesson plans.
  • Create safe, inclusive environments where every student can thrive.
  • Assist with program setup and breakdown, maintain equipment and facility standards, track attendance, and complete required documentation.
  • Build positive relationships with students, families, school partners, and teammates.
  • Represent HPA at programs and community events and pursue professional development to improve coaching and leadership skills.

High PerformanceAcademy (HPA) is on a mission to empower individuals to reach their potential through sports enrichment, and positive development experiences. We partner with schools and districts across California to provide dynamic, inclusive, and high-quality after-school and enrichment programs, camps and leagues that combine sports, social-emotional learning, and mentorship. About the Role

As a Sports Coach ,you'llinspire the next generation by creating fun, engaging, and safe sports experiences that help youth buildfundamental skills,confidence, teamwork, leadership, and lifelongrelationships.You'lllead high-quality after-school programs, camps, and leagues while serving as a positive role model for students of all ages and abilities. How You'll Contribute
  • Deliver Quality Coaching : Lead engaging, age-appropriate sportsprogrammingusing HPA lesson plans while teaching fundamental skills, encouraging teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship, and confidence.
  • Create Safe & Inclusive Environments : Superviseand engage withparticipants and foster a positive, inclusive, and growth-centered atmosphere where every student feels supported and can thrive.
  • Support Program Operations: Assistwith program setup and breakdown,maintainequipment and facility standards, track attendance, complete required documentation, and follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Build Relationships & Enhance the Participant Experience : Provide exceptional customer service while building positive relationships with students, families, school partners, and teammates.Encourageparticipant progress,shareprogram information, and create memorable experiences thatsupportparticipantengagement and growth.
  • Support HPA's Mission & Culture : Represent HPA at programs and community events, uphold our Core Values, contribute to a collaborative team environment, andparticipateinProfessionalDevelopment to continuously improve your coaching and leadership skills.

What You'll Bring
  • Pursuing a degree or experience in a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience working with youth, coaching, or a similar role.

  • Ability toworka flexible part-time schedule, includingprimarilyafternoons,but also open to mornings,evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays.
