Job summary

i9 Sports Gulfport, MS is seeking a part-time Sports Coordinator to help run youth leagues for kids ages 3–14. The role focuses on enforcing the rules, on-field coaching, and cultivating a positive, fun culture at every game day.

You will lead practice sessions, teach fundamentals, keep time and score, and foster sportsmanship while providing excellent customer service to families. Weekend availability and a seasonal schedule are required, with opportunities to develop coaching skills.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills with players, parents, and teammates.
• Prior coaching experience in youth sports or similar setting.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work weekends and some evenings during the season.
• Eligible to pass a National Criminal Background Check.

Responsibilities

• Enforce league rules to ensure safe, fun, and fair play.
• Lead practice sessions focusing on fundamentals and skills.
• Teach core concepts and model strong sportsmanship.
• Keep time and score during games as an official/referee.
• Maintain a positive attitude and provide excellent customer service.

Job Summary

The Sports Coordinator is a critical role in any sports field, responsible for enforcing rules, cultivating a positive culture, acting as an on-field coach, and advocating for the programs. This role directly impacts players, coaches, and spectators every game day.

Responsibilities

• Understand & enforce the i9 Sports rulebooks, ensuring fun, learning, and safety for all players
• May lead practice sessions focusing on fundamentals and skill development
• Teach & demonstrate core concepts, including Sportsmanship values
• Keep time and score during the games (officiate/referee)
• Consistently demonstrate a positive attitude and superior customer service skills
• Help set up and break down fields on game day.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills
• Sport-specific coaching experience & knowledge
• Highly motivated self-starter; can work independently
• Ability to work a varied work schedule, including weekends and some evenings (for the full duration of the season, ~7 weeks)
• Must be at least 15 years old to apply
• Must be able to pass a National Criminal Background Check
