Summary

Brief Description

Position Summary:

Team Member Safely operates and maintains spooling trucks and equipment to handle, transport, and process wire ropes or cables, performing tasks like spooling, cutting, banding, and loading/unloading materials while ensuring compliance with safety and company standards. They manage inventory, conduct routine equipment maintenance to prevent downtime, and communicate effectively with team members, sometimes training others. This role requires adherence to safety protocols, maintaining a clean work environment, and following job specifications.

Requirements

• Properly maintain all service trucks and trailers
• Maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• Maintain required electronic logs
• Proficient in installing wire rope on all types of machines
• Properly log hours and complete field service tickets
• Review, interpret, and understand codes, instructions, and specifications from Fab Tickets, along with special drawings or blueprints
• Calculate wire rope cut lengths, fitting requirements, and select appropriate equipment to produce all varieties of wire rope assemblies
• Set up, operate, adjust, and maintain all wire rope production machines and equipment
• Select, write, and attach proper tags and labels to products
• Locate and interpret appropriate capacity tables
• Count, record, and report inventory as required
• Perform all duties to established quality standards
• Report defective or substandard materials, supplies, or products
• Maintain work area, equipment, and tools in a clean and organized manner
• Follow all safety guidelines
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Trade school or military experience is a plus

Experience & Skills

• Experience in rigging and lifting preferred
• Must be able to lift or pull a minimum of 50 pounds
• Solid written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
• Strong analytical, conceptual, and planning skills
• Excellent math skills
• Overall PC literacy, including Microsoft Office
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and disciplined
• Ability to multitask
• Must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen, and E-Verify
