Job summary

Georgia State University's Office of Sponsored Programs seeks a Research Financial Officer to manage sponsored awards from setup to closeout. You will prepare invoices, reconcile accounts, and ensure compliance with sponsor terms while supporting the university's growing research portfolio.

Minimum requirements include a bachelor's degree in business, accounting or finance and four years of fiduciary experience in a university or non-profit context.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting or finance.
  • Four years of university or non-profit/government fiduciary experience.
  • Experience with higher education, especially research administration, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Establish sponsored awards in the financial system according to award guidelines and specifications.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual bills and invoices per sponsor requirements and award terms.
  • Ensure proper documentation and accounting of required cost sharing.
  • Reconcile sponsored project accounts to the General Ledger and awarded budgets.
  • Monitor project expenditures for compliance with federal, state, and university policies.
  • Prepare quarterly, annual, and final financial reports as specified in award documents.
  • Provide professional and responsive financial support to GSU's research community.
