Job Summary

The Associate Director of Sponsored Research Administration is responsible for managing the administrative functions related to sponsored research, including grant proposal development and submission processes. This position plays a key role in ensuring compliance with institutional and federal regulations while providing support and training to faculty and staff involved in research activities.


Location: Atlanta, Georgia. Contract type: Full-Time. Regular/Temporary: Regular.


Responsibilities


  • Job Duty 1 - Manage the review and negotiation of grant and contract agreements to ensure compliance with institutional policies and favorable terms for the organization.

  • Job Duty 2 - Develop and implement policies and procedures for sponsored research administration, ensuring compliance with institutional and federal regulations.

  • Job Duty 3 - Manage the review and negotiation of grant and contract agreements, ensuring that terms and conditions are favorable and comply with institutional policies.

  • Job Duty 4 - Coordinate post-award administration activities, including monitoring project progress, ensuring compliance with sponsor requirements, and facilitating financial reporting.

  • Job Duty 5 - Provide training and support to faculty and staff on sponsored research administration processes, enhancing the understanding of best practices and compliance.

  • Job Duty 6 - Collect and analyze data related to sponsored research activities, preparing reports to inform institutional leadership about trends and performance.

  • Job Duty 7 - Serve as a liaison between the institution and external funding agencies, facilitating communication and resolving any issues that may arise during the grant life cycle.

  • Job Duty 8 - Participate in strategic planning efforts related to sponsored research, contributing insights and recommendations to enhance the institution's research funding efforts.

  • Job Duty 9 - Collaborate with faculty and researchers to provide guidance on funding opportunities and the requirements for grant applications.

  • Job Duty 10 - Perform other job-related duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements


Bachelor's or Master's Degree in related discipline or equivalent, related experience; advanced certification may be preferred or required (some profiles may require additional education).


Required Experience


Six or more years of relevant experience, including one or more years of supervisory experience.
