Job summary

The University of Maryland, College Park's Center for Global Sustainability is seeking a Financial Services Coordinator to support financial, procurement, and sponsored research operations. The role reports to the Assistant Director of Finance and collaborates with PIs, CGS leadership, university offices, sponsors, and vendors.

The position handles pre-award and post-award activities, budgeting, reconciliations, vendor payments, and financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
• One year of professional budget, finance, or accounting experience.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support pre-award and post-award financial coordination and reporting.
• Prepare proposal budgets aligned with sponsor guidelines.
• Enter journal entries and complete monthly reconciliations.
• Coordinate procurement documents and vendor payments.
• Provide responsive customer service to CGS staff, sponsors, and collaborators.
