Job summary

Boyd Company, in partnership with Illinois Central College, offers a two-year ThinkBIG Dealer Technician Training Program designed to prepare you to become a Caterpillar dealership service technician. Selected candidates are sponsored through an Associate in Applied Science degree program that includes paid internships at a Boyd location.

Qualifications

Must be a high school graduate with a 2.7 GPA or higher.
Must be available for standardized pre-enrollment testing at ICC and Boyd Company.
Must pass company physical, drug screen, and background check.
Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English.
Ability to operate a PC (Windows, Excel, Word).
Maintain high integrity and accountability standards.

Responsibilities

Perform mechanical functions under supervision to repair or rebuild components.
Operate construction machinery to move in/out of shop bays and test performance.
Read and comprehend technical data/service manuals; write legibly.
Learn to use test equipment to correctly and safely make repairs.
Keep work area clean and follow safety rules.
