Job summary

Lambert's Cable Splicing Company, LLC is hiring a Copper Splicer to connect and maintain copper wire networks for telecommunications. You will perform aerial and underground splicing, test and troubleshoot post-installation equipment, and maintain accurate material usage records.

The role requires at least 6 months of copper splicing or 1 year in telecom, a valid US driver license, and the ability to pass a DOT medical exam. Work will involve varied heights and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Six months of copper splicing experience or one year in telecommunications
• Valid driver license with acceptable driving record
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam for a valid medical card
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company

Responsibilities

• With guidance, perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment post-installation
• Ensure all splicing operations meet customer and industry standards
• Safely navigate working at different heights, from underground to in the air
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks
• Document work performed through daily production reports and maps, and track material usage
• Other duties as assigned

What you’ll do

• With guidance, perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment post-installation

• Safely navigate working at different heights, from underground to in the air
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks
• Document work performed through daily production reports, including marking up maps and keeping correct material usage records
• Other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid State driver's license (cannot be considered Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
• Six months of copper splicing experience or one year of experience in the telecommunications industry

Additional qualifications

• Certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber, is preferred

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely : operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, work alone in remote locations with arms above shoulder level, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds
• Occasionally : work in confined spaces, use ladder, keyboard and mouse
