Job summary

TelCom Construction, LLC is seeking a Copper Splicer to connect and maintain copper wire networks for telecommunications, ensuring reliable phone and internet services through precise splicing and maintenance.

You will perform cable upgrades both aerial and underground, test and troubleshoot post-installation equipment, and ensure operations meet industry standards while keeping detailed documentation and maps up to date.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company.
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience.
• Valid State driver's license (not Provisional), with an acceptable driving record.
• Pass a DOT physical exam to obtain a valid medical card.
• Six months of copper splicing experience or one year in the telecommunications industry.

Responsibilities

• Perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground, with guidance.
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment post-installation.
• Ensure all splicing operations meet customer and industry standards.
• Safely navigate working at different heights, from underground to in the air.
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks.
• Document work performed through daily production reports, marking maps and tracking material usage.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Document work performed through daily production reports, including marking up maps and keeping correct material usage records
• Other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company

• Valid State driver's license (cannot be considered Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
• Six months of copper splicing experience or one year of experience in the telecommunications industry

Additional qualifications

• Certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber, is preferred

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely: operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, work alone in remote locations with arms above shoulder level, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds
• Occasionally: work in confined spaces, use ladder, keyboard and mouse
