Job summary

Lambert's Cable is hiring a Copper Splicer I (Entry-Level) to connect and maintain copper wire networks that support reliable phone and internet services. You will perform both aerial and underground splicing work and document daily activities during the job.

You must be at least 18, hold a valid driverf license with a clean record, pass a DOT physical for a medical card, and have six months of splicing or one year telecom experience. Training and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or relevant work experience.
• Six months of copper splicing experience or one year of experience in the telecommunications industry.
• Valid state driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• DOT medical exam passed with a valid medical card.

Responsibilities

• Perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground, with guidance.
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment post-installation.
• Ensure splicing operations meet customer and industry standards.
• Navigate working at heights, from underground to in the air, safely.
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks.
• Document work performed through daily reports and map markings.

What you’ll do

• With guidance, perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment post-installation
• Ensure all splicing operations meet strict customer and industry standards
• Safely navigate working at different heights, from underground to in the air
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks
• Document work performed through daily production reports, including marking up maps and keeping correct material usage records
• Other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid State driver's license (cannot be considered Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
• Six months of copper splicing experience or one year of experience in the telecommunications industry
• Certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber, is preferred

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely: operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, work alone in remote locations with arms above shoulder level, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds
• Occasionally: work in confined spaces, use ladder, keyboard and mouse
