Job summary

CableCom, LLC is hiring a Coax Splicer in Albuquerque, NM. You will work on telecommunications networks, performing coax upgrades and splicing both aerial and underground installations. Responsibilities include testing, activation, and troubleshooting post-installation, while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass a DOT medical exam. Prior coax splicing or telecom experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• Authorized to work in the United States for CableCom, LLC.
• High School Diploma, GED, or relevant work experience.
• Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Able to pass a DOT physical exam for a valid medical card.
• Coax splicing or telecom industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, aerial and underground, with guidance.
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment after installation.
• Ensure splicing operations meet customer and industry standards.
• Safely work at heights, from underground to aerial installations.
• Document daily production reports, mark maps, and track material usage.
• Complete basic daily vehicle maintenance.

What You’ll Do

• With guidance, perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment post-installation
• Ensure all splicing operations meet strict customer and industry standards
• Safely navigate working at different heights, from underground to in the air
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks
• Document work performed through daily production reports, including marking up maps and keeping correct material usage records
• Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid State driver's license (cannot be considered Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
• Coax splicing experience preferred or experience in the telecommunications industry

Additional Qualifications

• Certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber, is preferred

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: work in confined space, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, work alone in remote locations with arms above shoulder level, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds, use keyboard and mouse
• Occasionally: use ladder and gaffs for climbing poles

The wage range for Splicer I Coax is $21.00 - $26.00.
