Job summary

OrthoCarolina Spine Center in Charlotte, NC seeks a Patient Services Specialist to greet patients, collect information and enter data into EPIC for claims processing. You will handle scheduling, cashier duties and payments with a focus on accuracy and patient service.

Experience in medical clinics is preferred; strong knowledge of insurance and HIPAA, plus EPIC/EMR familiarity, are desirable.

Qualifications

• High school graduate and/or associate or bachelor's degree.
• Prefer minimum of one year experience in medical clinic setting.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Working knowledge of insurance.
• Epic/EMR background a plus.
• Medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Prepares paperwork necessary for the patient visit.
• Answers incoming phone calls and directs calls, makes appointments, performs cashier duties including posting of charges.
• Collection of co-payments/co-insurance and balances due.
• Follows the process for release of medical information and FMLA/disability forms completion as requested.
