Job summary

Hawaii Ocean Medical (RX Medical) is seeking a Spinal Fusion Sales Associate to drive implantable spine device sales across hospitals and physicians in the Hawaii region. This role emphasizes field coverage, relationship-building with surgeons, and meeting quarterly sales targets.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree and at least two years of growth in medical device or healthcare sales, with a willingness to travel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience with proven significant growth.
  • Medical device/healthcare sales experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong ability to learn and develop on the go.
  • Valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Sell implantable devices for spine therapies to physicians, hospitals, and staff.
  • Maintain consignments and loaner inventory; move loaner sets between accounts.
  • Provide field service and case coverage as needed.
  • Prepare and submit field visit reports.
  • Maintain up-to-date customer records.
  • Aggressively visit hospitals and solicit orders; pursue new customers.
  • Handle customer complaints per policy; escalate when necessary.
  • Aim for sales quotas and market share in the territory.
  • Travel within assigned territory to cover hospital cases and meetings.
  • Participate in sales meetings, trainings, conventions, and trade shows.
  • Assist in field training of colleagues.
  • Adhere to policies and conduct business ethically.

Spinal Fusion Sales AssociateResponsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:Selling implantable devices for specific therapies to physicians, institutions, payors, and other appropriate medical staffMaintaining Consignments and Loaner inventory, moving loaner sets between accounts as neededProviding field service and case coverage to customers per their individual needsPreparing and submitting field visit reports as required by Distributor PrincipalMaintaining up-to-date customer record books and other records in accordance with Distributor Principal’s instructionsAggressively visiting hospitals and solicit orders from present and prospective customers for the assigned productsAggressively seeking new customers and formulate and follow plans for such action as directed by the Distributor PrincipalHandling customer complaints in accordance with manufacturers’ policies and advise Distributor Principal and manufacturers promptly of any situation beyond scope of authorityRecommending the addition of new products and the modification or deletion of present products to the line as appropriateMeeting or exceeding sales quota and total company market share in assigned territoryStaying attentive to competitor’s product and merchandizing practices and keep the Distributor Principal informedAttending and participating in sales meetings, training programs, conventions, and trade shows as directedAssisting in the field training of any salesperson as requested by the Distributor PrincipalCooperating with all personnel on the execution of organization programsCreating and implementing an annual business plan with quarterly updatesSubmitting reports and provide information as directedAdhering to company policies and conduct all business in an ethical mannerManaging business with organization profitability in mindTraveling significantly within assigned territory to cover hospital cases, make account calls, move loaner sets to needed locations, and attend meetings, training programs, conventions and trade showsOther duties as assignedWe seek out and hire a diverse workforce at every level: We need fresh ideas and inclusive insights to continue to be an innovative industry leader —that’s why we make it a point to seek out, attract and develop employees who are patient-centric, passionate, and who represent the same wide variety of life experiences as our patients.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree from accredited institutionA minimum of two years’ experience with proven significant growthMedical device/Healthcare sales experience preferred but not requiredA significant capacity to learn and develop on the goNice to Have: PreferencesAbility to interact effectively with a wide range of people and personalitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work in an operating room settingAbility to accommodate a flexible work scheduleOrtho, Spine or O.R. experience strongly preferred• Preference will be given to local qualified candidatesAdditional Job RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be independently mobileRequired to interact with a computer for extended periods of time, and communicate with peers and co-workersRegularly required to talk or hearOccasionally required to sit and reach with hands and armsRegularly required to stand; walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools , or controlsMust frequently lift and/or move up to 50 poundsSpecific vision abilities required by this job involve normal visionAbility to travel**Must have a valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance policy.
