Job summary

The Town of Forest Heights is seeking a Part Time Professional to administer the speed camera enforcement program in Oxon Hill, MD. The administrator will manage daily administrative work, oversee contractor performance, and ensure lawful citation processing, public communication, records, and accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and experience in administrative operations, records, contracts, finance, law enforcement support, or a comparable field.
• Experience with traffic safety or automated enforcement is preferred.
• Ability to manage confidential records and deadlines, reconcile data, communicate clearly with the public, use office and case management systems, and apply written rules consistently.
• Ability to complete Maryland’s program administrator training and any Town required background review.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the speed monitoring system contractor’s performance, deliverables, service issues, invoices, and compliance with the Town’s contract and Maryland Transportation Article § 21-809.
• Coordinate citation workflows with authorized police personnel or properly trained technicians; ensure required data and deadlines are documented; route errors for correction.
• Maintain an organized inventory of compliant records, locations, signs, and training certificates; ensure calibration certificates and logs are up to date.
• Receive and track public questions, correspondence, and requests for citation review; provide timely information and preserve reviewer independence.
• Coordinate hearing and court records with the District Court and Town personnel; protect evidence and manage access, retention, and disposal of data.
• Reconcile citation counts, payments, refunds, contractor charges, expenditures, and net revenue; prepare management summaries and annual data submissions.
• Identify compliance gaps or safety trends and coordinate with the Chief and Town Administrator on program changes; complete required training every two years.
• Work with the Town to ensure lawful program operations and maintain documentation for audits and reviews.
• Sworn police certification is not required for this administrative position.
