Job summary

The Lakes Home Care, Inc. in Miami, FL is seeking a Speech Therapist Assistant to support Speech-Language Pathologists in assessing and treating pediatric to geriatric patients. This position offers flexible schedules and collaborative teamwork in a patient-centered setting.

The successful candidate will implement prescribed activities, monitor progress, and contribute to comprehensive treatment plans while communicating with families and the interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state licensure or certification
• Experience with speech and language disorders and therapeutic techniques
• Ability to work with pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations
• Excellent communication with families and interdisciplinary teams

Responsibilities

• Assist SLPs in patient assessments and information gathering
• Implement prescribed therapy under supervision
• Provide direct patient care and document progress
• Support treatment plan development and modification
• Instruct patients in exercises to improve speech and language
• Collaborate on AAC strategies with the team
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and staff
• Maintain accurate documentation of interactions and progress
• Participate in team meetings to discuss plans and progress
