Job summary

The Lakes Home Care, Inc. seeks a Speech Therapist Assistant to support Speech-Language Pathologists in treating speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders across pediatric to geriatric populations.

Will implement prescribed activities, document progress, and help develop individualized treatment plans while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to improve patient communication and swallowing skills.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state licensure or certification.
• Strong understanding of speech and language disorders and therapeutic techniques.
• Commitment to maintaining licensure and ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Assist Speech-Language Pathologists in patient assessments and information gathering.
• Implement prescribed therapies and exercises under supervision.
• Provide direct patient care and monitor progress during sessions.
• Support treatment plan development and modification with the SLP.
• Instruct patients in speech and communication exercises.
• Collaborate on augmentative and alternative communication strategies.
• Communicate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Document patient interactions accurately and timely.
• Participate in team meetings to review treatment plans and progress.
