Job summary

Palms Nursing Center in California seeks a Speech Pathologist to provide comprehensive speech-language pathology services to residents in a skilled nursing setting. You will assess, diagnose and treat patients, develop treatment plans, and contribute to program development.

Collaboration with the Rehab Director and team is essential for Performance Improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate has a Speech-Language Pathology license and a desire to grow within a supportive, team-oriented

Qualifications

• License or completion of SLP education required.
• Willingness to obtain licensure if not currently licensed.
• Experience in SNF setting or healthcare environment is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Collaborate with Director of Rehab and therapy team for program development and performance improvement.

Job description

The Speech Pathologist provides Speech Pathology Services to patients referred, including assessment, treatment plan development and implementation. Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) play an important role in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF). SLPs assess and treat patients with a wide variety of deficits, including, but not limited to, dysphagia, cognition, speech and/or communication difficulties. The Speech Pathologist assists with clinical aspects of the department, including program development and Performance Improvement activities. Works closely with the Director of Rehab and the tight knit therapy family!
