Job summary

HCA HealthONE Sky Ridge is seeking a Speech Therapist (SLP) on a PRN basis in Colorado. You will evaluate and treat patients to improve communication, cognition, and swallowing, while supporting a collaborative rehab team.

You will educate patients and families, document findings, and adjust treatment plans as needed. This role emphasizes clinical judgment and efficient care within a well-resourced environment.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or Doctorate in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited college or university.
  • CCC-SLP certification or CFY verification.
  • Colorado license to practice speech-language pathology.
  • BLS certification from AHA or ARC.
  • Ability to perform evaluations, planning and test interpretation; willing to learn FEES.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating communication, cognitive, and swallowing abilities using structured assessments and observation.
  • Developing and adjusting individualized treatment plans for communication and swallowing improvement.
  • Documenting evaluations, daily notes, progress updates, and discharge summaries.
  • Educating patients and families on therapy goals, safety recommendations, and home strategies.
  • Collaborating with physicians, nursing teams, rehabilitation staff, and care managers.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Speech Therapist (SLP), you’ll help patients improve their communication, cognitive, and swallowing abilities through skilled, evidence-based care. Your role is key in helping patients make progress and independence while working closely with a supportive, collaborative rehabilitation team. Your role will include:
  • Evaluating communication, cognitive, and swallowing abilities using structured assessments, standardized tools, and clinical observation
  • Developing and adjusting individualized treatment plans that support communication clarity, safe swallowing, and functional progress
  • Documenting evaluations, daily notes, progress updates, and discharge summaries with accuracy and timeliness
  • Educating patients and families on therapy goals, safety recommendations, home strategies, and expected progress
  • Collaborating with physicians, nursing teams, rehabilitation staff, and care managers to support coordinated care and smooth transitions
What qualifications you will need:
  • The Speech Pathologist must have either a valid certificate of clinical competence issued by the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and a Colorado License or if a Clinical Fellow, verification of initiation of certification with valid ASHA account number. Must complete Clinical Fellow Year (CFY) within 15 months of hire.
  • BLS certification from American Heart Association or ARC required
  • Masters degree or Doctorate in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited college or university.
  • Hospital/Rehab experience preferred. CFY (Clinical Fellowship Year) candidates accepted.
  • Able to perform all evaluations, assessment, treatment planning and test interpretation required in this position. Effective verbal and written communication. Must be competent or willing to be trained and receive competency in modified barium swallows. FEES (Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of the Swallow) experience desired but not required.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • (CCC-SLP) Cert of Clin Competence Speech Language Pathology
