Job summary

HCA HealthONE is seeking a Speech Therapist (SLP) to help patients improve communication, cognitive, and swallowing abilities within a collaborative rehabilitation team. You will evaluate, treat, and document progress while educating patients and families on goals and home strategies.

The role requires ASHA CCC‑SLP (or CFY with initiation verification) and a Colorado license, with a CFY completion within 15 months.

Qualifications

  • Valid ASHA CCC‑SLP and Colorado license, or a CFY with verification.
  • CFY within 15 months of hire.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Master’s or Doctorate in Speech Language Pathology.
  • Hospital or rehab experience preferred; CFY accepted.
  • Competence in evaluations, assessments, treatment planning, and test interpretation; willingness to receive training in modified barium swallows.
  • FEES experience desirable but not required.
  • Basic Life Support within 30 days of employment start date.

Job Summary

As a Speech Therapist (SLP), you will help patients improve their communication, cognitive, and swallowing abilities through evidence‑based care. Your role is key in supporting patient progress and independence within a collaborative rehabilitation team. You will practice in a well‑resourced environment that values your clinical judgment and protects your time through clear caseloads, streamlined workflows, and network‑backed collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate communication, cognitive, and swallowing abilities using structured assessments, standardized tools, and clinical observation.
  • Develop and adjust individualized treatment plans that support communication clarity, safe swallowing, and functional progress.
  • Document evaluations, daily notes, progress updates, and discharge summaries accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Educate patients and families on therapy goals, safety recommendations, home strategies, and expected progress.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing teams, rehabilitation staff, and care managers to provide coordinated care and smooth transitions.
Qualifications
  • Valid certificate of clinical competence issued by the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and a Colorado license, or a Clinical Fellow with verification of certification initiation and valid ASHA account number.
  • Completion of Clinical Fellow Year (CFY) within 15 months of hire.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association or ARC required.
  • Master’s degree or Doctorate in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Hospital or rehabilitation experience preferred. CFY candidates accepted.
  • Proficiency in all evaluations, assessments, treatment planning, and test interpretation required; willingness to receive training and competence in modified barium swallows. FEES experience desirable but not required.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
