Job summary

Vista Ridge Senior Care is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to deliver therapy for short-term and long-term residents. The in-house therapy team emphasizes small caseloads and up-to-date equipment to optimize patient time.

You will develop plans of care, screen patients, document progress, and train families and caregivers, while upholding safety and infection prevention in the rehab area. CEU and licensure reimbursements are offered for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Must hold Texas SLP licensure (not CFY)
• Experience in skilled nursing setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a Speech Therapy plan of care for facility residents and short-term patients.
• Assist as needed with patient screens for Speech Therapy.
• Communicate progress and any barriers toward SLP goals with interdisciplinary team members.
• Complete timely Speech therapy documentation in compliance with regulatory, licensing, facility, and payor requirements.
• Assist with maintaining rehab gym equipment and treatment area safely, infection prevention.
• Provide and document patient, family, and caregiver training regarding plan of care and follow-up.
• Maintain productivity standards as expected by the Director of Rehab or Administrator.

This position is for a skilled nursing facility with both short-term and long-term patients. Vista Ridge Senior Care has an in-house therapy team with smaller daily case loads, all new equipment, and an emphasis on optimizing time with patients.

Speech Therapist Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a Speech Therapy plan of care for facility residents and short-term patients.
• Assist as needed with patient screens for Speech Therapy.
• Communicate progress and any barriers toward SLP goals with interdisciplinary team members.
• Complete timely Speech therapy documentation in compliance with regulatory, licensing, facility, and payor requirements.
• Assist with maintaining both the rehab gym equipment and treatment area in a safe manner, using good infection prevention methods.
• Provide and document patient, family, and caregiver training regarding each speech therapy patient’s specific plan of care and recommendations for follow-up.
• Maintain productivity standards as expected by the Director of Rehab or Administrator.

• Current Texas licensure as an SLP is required (this position would not be a good fit for a CFY candidate)

Salary:

From $55.00 per hour
