Job summary

Genesis HealthCare System is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to plan, organize, and implement structured treatment of patients. You will provide group and/or individual programs to a variety of diagnoses and presenting symptoms.

The role requires completing assessments, developing treatment plans, supervising students/CFYs, and ensuring timely documentation and compliant care within HomeCare/Inpatient settings.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited school of Speech Pathology.
• Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology or licensed Speech Therapist from an accredited school of Speech Pathology or equivalent.
• Current Ohio Speech-Language Pathologist license and certificate of Clinical Competence OR current Ohio Speech-Language Pathology Conditional licensure with CCC within nine months of hire.
• Attention to detail.
• Minimum of one clinical rotation in a Rehabilitation Services setting (e.g., Acute Rehab, SNF, Acute Medical, Outpatient, Home Health).
• Valid driver's license and proof of auto liability insurance (HomeCare).

Responsibilities

• Collects/interprets diagnostic data and its clinical relevance when making assessments, considering current presentation and past medical history.
• Demonstrates proficiency in performing patient assessment, development of treatment plans, and patient-specific goals.
• Supervises and directs patient treatment activities of SLP/CFY’s and/or students.
• Initiates patient care activities in a timely manner following department guidelines.
• Ensures patient charges are accurately captured and submitted within 24 hours of treatment.
• Completes competency/checklist of expectations as appropriate to current position.
• Completes annual competencies as appropriate to position including age-specific competencies.
• Completes documentation accurately, timely, legible, and compliant with policies.
• Demonstrates willingness to cross-train as appropriate to credentials and department needs.
• Assists with orientation of new staff and/or students.
