Qualifications

• Must be licensed in Speech Therapy in Maryland.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Valid driver's license and vehicle access needed.

Salary range: $37.00-$47.00 per hour

Responsibilities

The Speech Therapist in Home Health is responsible for assessing and evaluating patient needs related to treating speech and language disorders, as well as providing functional training in communication, swallowing, and cognitive impairments.

• Provides services within the scope of practice defined by state laws, in accordance with the plan of care, and in coordination with the healthcare team.
• Evaluates patient function using diagnostic and prognostic tests and assists physicians in developing the therapy plan of care.
• Treats patients to improve communication, expressing thoughts effectively according to the patient's condition, following standards of practice.
• Instructs patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare team members in speech therapy areas they can participate in.

Education and Experience

License Requirements

• Must be currently licensed in Speech Therapy in Maryland
• Current CPR certification
• Must have a valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation
