Optum's VNA of Maryland-Chestertown, part of the UnitedHealth Group family, is hiring a Speech Therapist in Home Health to assess and treat speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive impairments in patients.

The role involves evaluating function, developing treatment plans, delivering interventions, collaborating with the care team, and educating patients and families. We offer flexible scheduling (FT/PT/PRN) with a $10,000 sign-on bonus for full-time hires and a comprehensive benefits package.

Competenze

Licensed in Speech Therapy in the state of residence.
Current CPR certification.
Current driver's license, vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.

Mansioni

Provides services within the scope of practice as defined by state laws governing speech therapy, in accordance with the plan of care, and in coordination with other health care team members.
Evaluates the patient's level of function using diagnostic and prognostic tests; assists in developing the therapy plan of care.
Treats patients to improve communication by expressing thoughts according to condition using accepted standards of practice.
Observes, records, and reports patient response to treatment to supervising nurse/physician.
Instructs patient, family, caregiver in speech therapy areas they can participate.
