Job summary

Mass General Brigham Home Care is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide in-home services across our diverse patient population. You'll evaluate, treat, and educate patients and families with a focus on speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders, while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

This hybrid, part-time role (32 hours) offers autonomy to manage your own schedule with 4-5 visits per day, no evenings, weekends, or holidays, and access to scheduling

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program.
• Current Massachusetts SLP license.
• Minimum two years' experience in acute care, rehab or home care as an SLP.
• Proficient with computer systems; handheld devices preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with diverse populations.
• Excellent organizational and prioritization abilities.
• Ability to work independently and stay self-directed.
• Ability to collaborate on an interdisciplinary care team.
• Willingness to travel within the MGB Home Care geographic area.
• Excellent written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide skilled speech-language and swallowing therapy in the home.

What you'll do

As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you'll evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, provide skilled therapy, and work closely with patients, families, caregivers, and an interdisciplinary team.

• Complete comprehensive speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing evaluations
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals
• Provide skilled speech-language and swallowing therapy in the home
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on treatment strategies and recommendations
• Assess and address communication, cognition, and swallowing needs
• Make recommendations for appropriate compensatory strategies, adaptive techniques, and equipment as indicated
• Coordinate care with patients, families, physicians, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to initiate and support transition to outpatient services as appropriate
• Document evaluations, treatment, progress, and care coordination activities
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support safe, effective, patient-centered care
• Deliver high-quality care that helps patients maximize their independence and quality of life

Qualifications

What you'll bring

• Graduate of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program
• Current Massachusetts Speech-Language Pathologist license
• Two year's experience in acute care, rehab or homecare as a Speech Therapist
• Comfort working with various computer systems; experience with handheld clinical devices preferred
