Job summary

The Lakes Home Care, Inc. is seeking a Speech Therapist Assistant to support SLPs in evaluating and treating speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders across pediatric to geriatric patients.

You will assist with assessments, implement therapies, document progress, and help develop individualized plans, while collaborating with families and the care team in a flexible, patient-centered setting.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state licensure or certification.
• Strong understanding of speech and language disorders and therapeutic techniques
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to maintaining licensure and participating in professional development activities

Responsibilities

• Assist Speech-Language Pathologists in patient assessments and data gathering
• Implement prescribed activities under SLP guidance
• Provide direct patient care and monitor progress
• Support treatment plan development and modification
• Instruct patients in speech, language, and communication exercises
• Collaborate on augmentative and alternative communication strategies
• Communicate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions and progress
• Participate in team meetings to discuss plans and progress
