Summary

We are hiring a PRN Speech Therapist.

The Speech Therapist in Home Health is responsible for assessing and evaluating patient care needs related to treating speech and language disorders, as well as functional training in communication, swallowing, and cognitive impairments. Based on this assessment, the therapist helps determine a treatment plan, performs interventions to improve the patient's well-being, and evaluates progress.

Responsibilities

• Provide services within the scope of practice defined by state laws, in accordance with the plan of care, and in coordination with the healthcare team.
• Evaluate patients' functional levels using diagnostic and prognostic tests, and assist physicians in developing therapy plans.
• Treat patients to communicate effectively, expressing thoughts according to their condition and standards of practice.
• Educate patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare team members in speech therapy areas where they can participate.

Education and Experience

License Requirements:

• Must be currently licensed in Speech Therapy in Florida
• Current CPR certification
• Valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle
