Job summary

Lifepoint Health's Texas Rehabilitation of Plano is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat patients in a brand-new inpatient rehabilitation setting opening in 2026. The role requires a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, ASHA CFY eligibility, and current BLS/CPR certification.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Speech-Language Pathology are required.
  • ASHA CCC/CFY eligibility and state licensure eligibility are required or anticipated.
  • Current Basic Life Support/CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs patient assessment.
  • Establishes a plan of care.
  • Provides care per physician orders and plan.
  • Assesses treatment effectiveness and adjusts the plan as needed.
  • Plans discharge and communicates with the care team.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities.
  • Contributes to budget planning and cost effectiveness of services.
  • Assesses educational needs and provides education to patients and families.
  • Maintains safe environment and follows safety standards.
  • Coordinates staff and interns and delegates appropriately.
  • Participates in quality improvement processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Texas Rehabilitation of Plano is a brand-new 40 bed inpatient rehabilitation facility opening in 2026. We offer high-quality, compassionate care for a wide variety of patients in need. Our teams provide evidence-based, transformational care for a broad range of rehabilitation concerns in a compassionate, comfortable environment.

How You'll Contribute
  • Performs patient assessment.
  • Establish a plan of care.
  • Provides care in accordance with physician's orders and established plan of care.
  • Assesses the effectiveness of treatment and modifies treatment to achieve goals.
  • Plans for patient discharge. Communicates with patient, family, caregivers, significant other, and members of the healthcare team to achieve rehabilitation goals and promote maximum benefits of care.
  • Participates in performance improvement and program development activities.
  • Provides input into the budgetary planning process; contributing to cost effectiveness of services and programs provided by the department.
  • Assess educational needs of the patient, family, caregiver, or significant other and provides education to meet those needs.
  • Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff. Assesses the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions. Complies with appropriate and approved safety standards.
  • Utilizes the appropriate leadership skills in delegating, organizing, and educating coworkers and staff. Coordinates and supervises appropriate levels of staff including interns, students, and volunteers.
  • Participates in and contributes to quality improvement processes for the department and the institution.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Education: A Bachelor's and Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, Communicative Disorders, or similarly titled area that is consistent and acceptable to the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
  • License: Possess or eligible for a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or be eligible to participate as an ASHA Clinical Fellow (CFY). Licensed or eligible for licensure in state.
  • Additional Requirements: Current Basic Life Support/CPR card.
