Centra Rehabilitation Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is opening a brand-new inpatient rehabilitation facility in 2026 in Lynchburg, VA. We seek a Speech-Language Pathologist to lead assessment, planning, and therapy, collaborating with a physician‑driven care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

You will provide family and caregiver education, contribute to performance improvement, and support budget planning while ensuring safety and compliance in a state‑of‑the‑art setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology or a related field.
• Possess or eligible for ASHA CCC or CFY.
• Licensed or eligible for state licensure.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.

Responsabilités

• Perform patient assessment and establish a plan of care.
• Provide therapy according to physician orders and plan of care.
• Assess treatment effectiveness and adjust as needed to meet goals.
• Coordinate discharge planning and communicate with care teams and families.
• Participate in quality improvement and program development.

Formation

Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology/Communication Disorders/Similar area

ASHA CCC or CFY eligible

Centra Rehabilitation Hospital is a brand-new 50 bed inpatient rehabilitation facility opening in 2026. We offer high‑quality, compassionate care for a wide variety of patients in need. Our teams provide evidence‑based, transformational care for a broad range of injuries and illnesses in a compassionate, comfortable environment.

How you'll contribute

A Speech and Language Pathologist who excels in this role:

• Performs patient assessment.
• Establish a plan of care.
• Provides care in accordance with physician’s orders and established plan of care.
• Assesses the effectiveness of treatment and modifies treatment to achieve goals.
• Plans for patient discharge. Communicates with patient, family, caregivers, significant other, and members of the healthcare team to achieve rehabilitation goals and promote maximum benefits of care.
• Participates in performance improvement and program development activities.
• Provides input into the budgetary planning process; contributing to cost effectiveness of services and programs provided by the department.
• Assess educational needs of the patient, family, caregiver, or significant other and provides education to meet those needs.
• Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff. Assesses the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions. Complies with appropriate and approved safety standards
• Utilizes the appropriate leadership skills in delegating, organizing, and educating coworkers and staff. Coordinates and supervises appropriate levels of staff including interns, students, and volunteers.
• Participates in and contributes to quality improvement processes for the department and the institution.
• Other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Applicants should possess the following qualifications and skills:

A Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, Communicative Disorders, or similarly titled area that is consistent and acceptable to the American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association.

Possess or eligible for a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association (ASHA) or be eligible to participate as an ASHA Clinical Fellow (CFY).

Licensed or eligible for licensure in state.

Current Basic Life Support/CPR card.

Hourly range: $55.00
