Job summary

Responsibilities

• Support parents and families to reinforce speech skills at home.
• Consult with teachers, principals and staff for students with concerns.
• Report services provided to Medicaid and other funding agencies.

JOB TITLE: Speech and Language Pathologist-Shared w/ Local District

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate
• Master's degree in speech and language pathology

OR

• Meet the requirements for speech-language certification by the American speech-language-hearing association
• Ability to impact subject matter. Skills to work cooperatively with students, parents, and staff.
• Demonstrated mental/physical ability and stamina for meeting the essential duties of the position.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Complete comprehensive and timely speech and language evaluations for students.
• Provide case management for case load of students as assigned.
• Schedule, write, and conduct annual IEPs for students on caseload on a yearly basis.
• Provide consultative, group and direct therapy to students with speech and language impairments.
• Provide support for parents and families as needed to support the teaching of speech skills in the home.
• Consult and provide support to teachers, principals and other staff for students with speech and language concerns and caseload students.
• Complete ASD evaluations as part of the MET team and provide specialized support for students with ASD.
• Report services provided to Medicaid and other Federal and State funding Agencies.
